I everyone. I am completely in the Dark when it comes to systems and basically everything that goes with them. Idk why but Ive tried and it just never seems to make sense. Anyways. I have a 67 chevelle that I am working on for my dad. He wants a good sounding system, but he is old. He doesnt want the windows to rattle, he just wants a good sound he can hear over the motor. Right now there is a 6x9 in the middle of the dash and 2 6x9 in the package tray. also a 6 in the kick panels. I would like to add a decent stereo and replace the speakers with nice newer ones. and possibly a 10 sub in the trunk with amp. since my dad is tight a budget is probably being set for this. What would be some good components to use. The dash speaker has to be a 6x9 and the kick panels 6's but the package tray Im redoing and can be made for any speakers. The plans are to keep the inside as stock as possible so no holes in the doors. Any help would be nice. thanks nelson. I will look into that for sure and then try to convince the bank (aka my dad) that he needs to invest into something better than what is currently there. I havent dove to deep into how ill set up the trunk but it will deff be a custom box for a clean look. Right now the trunk floor is missing. Dynamat is a must for this car. The motor is pretty well built and sounds like it (loud), not to mention its just an older car and could use it anyways. Replace the 6's in the kicks with a set of components. Put the tweets on the dash or in the sail panels in the doors. I wanted to recommend the Aurasound mr52 that were on sale at Madisound but they are out of stock. I like the idea of a 10 in the back. I would forget about the rear speakers. Get a clarion dxz785usb for your headunit. Time alignment and active processing on the cheap. Amps I'd suggest a JL Audio 250/1 for the sub and try to find and JL e6450 6 channel for the mids and tweets, you can bridge channels 1-4 for the mids and then run 5 and 6 for the tweets. I'd look into cascasde over dynamat. Check out these two websites for deadening/blocking help.
