MPD Finds Compliance with 'Sagging Pants' Ordinance

The boys need to pull their pants up and keep them up. It is rediculous that we all have to be exposed to the lack of respect these guys have for themselves. It all begins at home, then the churches and schools need to reinforce what has been established as a law. Children have to be taught to be law abiding citizens by good and respectable role models. It takes everyone working together to bring about positive change. So they pull their pants up when they see a police officer. Do you think they pull them back down after the police officer passes by? If they had them down in the first place, that tells more about how they feel about it. You can't "police" self-respect. Is the council going to "police" low rider pants, t-straps, etc.? Just wondering. First off...what happened to the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE? I'm going to stray away from negative comments because that would be out of my character, but I will say that there are more things the law enforcement should be worried about other than how someone is wearing their pants!! Do u really know that sagging pants are apart of our culture....it is what makes us different from everybody else? This is the same mess that happened with the new school laws for uniforms...parents had already bought clothes for their children during the school year and had to turn around and come out of pocket again just for uniforms! ! This makes me laugh...they should be ashamed of themselves for even making up a law as tedious as this!! What they need to worry about is the racism still in the school system or how meridian still has law enforcement that is not correctly enforcing the law...after a while people will start retaliating and there is nothing anyone can do about it....not even a measly $200.00 fine! It's just a matter of pride. If they are not taught it at home, no wonder they go out in public and show just how much they think of theirselves. They have nothing else to offer the public, it's just a shame that the only thing they have TO offer, the only thing they feel is their best quality and what really lets the whole world know and identify with who they are as a person just happens to be their butt. Well, I guess that's not too far from the truth anyway. Evidence that this is 'working' is that pants get pulled up when in the presence of a police officer? What was the goal of the ordinance, to protect police officers from offensive waistlines?

On Friday New York's Senate passed the gay marriage bill on a close vote of 33-29. Of course predictably both sides of this non issue are screaming. The left is screaming thank you New York, while the right is screaming this is wrong because God said so. Make of it what you will but the facts are straight forward enough. New York had a decision to make and those elected by their constituents made it. They had a right to do so and the people of New York can vote them out of office if they want to at the next election. In the debates of the Constitutional Convention, religion did not get a lot of sound bites. It should be noted that without exception, the Framers were Christian or, at the very least, deists (generally, deists believe in a single god who set the universe on its course and then stepped back to watch; some deists believe their deity is the same God of Judeo-Christian tradition, some do not).
