Law And Order: Indictments Issued In Theft, Drug Incidents, Stabbing

District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe said that on June 16, at about 7:39 p.m., while in the Apple Store at the mall, Perez and an unknown female were seen concealing merchandise inside two shopping bags and then leaving the store without paying.  A loss prevention officer stopped Perez just outside of the Apple Store, with the female fleeing the area. 

Forged Presciption For Oxycodone

Jonathan Frederick DeVivo, 27, of 156 Wayne Ave., Suffern has been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury on charges of of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2 Degree in connection a forged drug prescription.

Zugibe said that DeVivo is accused of submitting a prescription in his name at Drug World located in New City for 120 Oxycodone pills. However, Zugibe said the doctor’s signature on the prescription was a forgery.

Drug Charges

A Bronx man and a Long Island woman have been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury on drug charges in connection with the discovery of heroine and marijuana in their car on the New York State Thruway in Clarkstown.

Alexander Reyes, 29, of 935 163 St., the Bronx and Shyhela Lewis, 32, of Fletcher Street, Brentwood, NY, were indicted on the charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3 Degree (2 counts) and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

Zugibe said that on July 27, at about 11:02 p.m., their car was stopped on the Thruway for a traffic violations. In a search of the vehicle, he said police found 30 grams of heroin and 3 grams of marijuana.

Stabbing, Robbery Attempt

Miguel Capellan-Hilario, 23, of 9 Broad St., Haverstraw, has been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury on charges of Assault in the 1 Degree in connection with a knife attack that left a man hospitalized for a week.

Zugibe said that on July 23, Capellan-Hilario and another attacker jumped their victim as he walked home.  The victim was put in a chokehold and stabbed numerous tines with a knife by Capellan-Hilario, who also tried to take property from the victim, Zugibe said.

The victim was hospitalized for a week with multiple stab wounds and a laceration to the spleen, Zugibe said.
