Gubler hails 'great' Criminal Minds

An oldie but a goodie, this 1998 live performance features the best of Steve Coogan's hit show 'The Man Who Thinks He's It', including the classic characters Alan Partridge, Paul and Pauline Calf, Tony Ferrino and Duncan Thicket. With Coogan back to his best after the excellent comedy-drama 'The Trip', it's nice to revisit some of his older work. Simon Pegg and Julia Davis add support, back in the days when they were unknowns.

11.20pm RTÉ Two

'Entourage' does what it does best in this episode, satirizing Hollywood celebrity culture like no other show. Johnny Drama has a disastrous meeting with John Stamos, involving a spat over ping pong no less, and Drama calls in Bob Saget to fix the situation. Elsewhere, Turtle is sceptical when Alex proposes a new business deal, and Eric and Scott try to keep Vince's career and their new business on track.

9.00pm BBC One

This popular BBC thriller series following a team of forensic pathologists is now in its 13th season and shows no signs of waning. In part one of this episode, 'Shadows', Dr Nikki Alexander (Emilia Fox) and Dr Harry Cunningham (Tom Ward) try to help wounded victims of a campus shooting while trapped in the building with the rampaging shooter.

Summary: Kat has already decided to recruit one of the Hemsworth boys to play her fake Thanksgiving boyfriend the next time Grandma Dennings berates her for dating pretentious douchebags before informing the rest of the family that she's doomed to die alone with nothing but her collection of first edition books and vinyl records to keep her warm. (Kat Dennings, Tom Hiddleston, references to the rest of the Thor cast, Matthew Gray Gubler, Emma Stone, Michael Cera, Ellen Page, and all the hipsters you can imagine) pg-13. 2,365 words. "As if anyone's keeping score, Dennings!" the Gube scoffs, rolling his eyes as he stuffs a handful of Doritos into his mouth. He's only testy because she's winning, but before he can bring up his one – and some would argue (the kind of people who have nothing better to do than argue about these things so, really, we're still just talking about Matthew and Kat here) only – matchmaking achievement, Kat states that Joe and Zoe knew each other long before either one of them even met Matthew so it hardly counts. But we're getting ahead of ourselves here. Prematurely shooting the wad, so to speak. (Tangent: apparently that's also a problem faced by James Franco if Mila Kunis' very loud – very drunk – declaration at the Date Night premiere party is to be believed. Given the amount of pot circulating through his system at any given time, Kat thinks Franco deserves a prize for even being able to get it up.) But the beginning is actually very boring. There's no real way to make the lead up to filming interesting unless Sean Young is involved. No one corners Ken and Chris in the parking lot dressed as a Norse god to get the part. As far as anyone knows, everyone goes about it the old-fashioned way: line readings and lots of praying in the car as they pull out of the lot after the audition goes terribly. Tom, who looks less like a guy who is in a comic book movie and more like the dork who camps out so he can be the first to pick apart the liberties the film took with the source material, ropes his way into the project early on through some sort of British nepotism involving a dowry and the exchange of priceless Shakespearean manuscripts. Jaimie's casting process is more of a mystery, but karate-skyping is definitely involved.
